To say Battlefield 2042 has had a rough go of it would be an understatement. DICE has officially confirmed that the long awaited patch for Battlefield 3 voice problems on PlayStation 3 will finally arrive. Over on the Battlelog, Tommy Rydling of DICE confirmed the news in a statement. “We have a fix on its way for the VOIP issue that some Battlefield 3 players have experienced on PS3.” Rydling still did not have a concrete time table on the release of the patch, but insisted that it will be arriving “soon”....

Following the unsuccessful post-launch addition of Battle Royale to Battlefield 5, Battlefield 2042 ditched the mode entirely. Instead, Dice focused its efforts on the series staple Conquest mode in addition to a Rush-inspired mode called Breakthrough. Despite the omission, the other half of the Battlefield 2042 experience, Portal Mode, has given users the power to create a very similar mode. The Xbox One and PS4 versions of Battlefield 4 didn’t quite make it to 1080p resolution for the next-gen releases, but DICE thinks the tradeoffs were worth it. The developers had to make some sacrifices in resolution, in order to get to 64-player counts and 60 fps. In a recent interview, DICE’s Johan Andersson, explained these tradeoffs. Getting to having 64 players and getting to 60 FPS was the most important thing because we wanted to bring this PC game experience that you have… Having a great frame rate is actually a significant difference from what we had on the current generation of consoles with only 24 players....
This was certainly a surprise. Sony has released their monthly list of top selling games on the PlayStation Store, and the winner is definitely not what you expected. Battlefield 4, EA and DICE’s shooter from 2013 has taken the top spot, even beating Blizzard’s juggernaut of a game, Overwatch. While the news is a bit shocking at first, it all makes sense in context, though it does show the staying power of BF4....
