With the release of World of Warcraft: Classic, Blizzard are hoping to reunite you with the people you used to play with. A series of threads have been set up on the Blizzard Forums to get people into the relevant Alliance and Horde realms and server groups, then you simply list your old character details.

The plan is that people will be able to find each other, even if they haven’t been in contact for a long time. There is also a series of threads where people can make new friends, and find new people to play with. It’s quite the wholesome endeavor on behalf of Blizzard.

World of Warcraft: Classic will release on August 27, and looks to take people back in time to when World of Warcraft was simpler and, arguably, much worse. The game will look and feel like it did back in 2006. Combat mechanics, character models and skill tress will all be just like they were back in the old days, to give you a true classic Warcraft experience. I kind of get the feeling that people are not quite sure what they are in for, and the community is looking at things with rose tinted glasses. That said, people have been asking for this for some time now, and Blizzard seem happy to oblige them.

Anyone with an active World of Warcraft subscription will have access to World of Warcraft: Classic. You’ll be starting out at Level 1 with new characters, so prepare for the grind.
