For those that enjoy dungeon crawling, look no further than Blightbound! From developers Ronimo Games (known for Awesomenauts) and Devolver Digital (known for Fall Guys and GRIS), this is a co-op dungeon dive in a dark fantasy setting.
The story of Blightbound centers on three heroes that have to venture from their safe mountain home to face the Blight. The Blight is a strange fog that enshrouds the land and hides monsters and dangers within. As players venture through dungeons, they can fight all sorts of enemies, find loot, and get new heroes for future play. Players will take on one of three roles in the team: the warrior, the assassin, or the mage. Warriors are excellent at blocking heavy damage. Assassins specialize in interrupting enemy moves. And mages keep your heroes alive with powerful healing.
While this is an ever-expanding game, currently there are 20 different heroes you can obtain that have their own unique skills and narrative story to be completed. There are hundreds of items to find that can boost your hero’s power. You can also recruit artisans to build out your mountain home, craft items, train you, and fulfill bounties. This Blight covers three unique lands you can explore, each with several dungeons a piece. These are called the Gravemark, the Underhold, and the Blood Ridge.
Blightbound is currently available on Steam Early Access. It is an online and local multiplayer game for three players. Right now, it doesn’t look like there are options for single-player or computer-controlled heroes in your party. Its graphics are fun and stylish, with a lot of dark designs. You can visit their website for previews on some of the heroes, updates to the story, as well as updates made to the game. The game itself will arrive on PC later in 2020.
