Even if Blair Witch is a horror game, you don’t have to go it alone. You have your trusty side-kick Bullet with you the entire time. He’s a loyal German Shepherd who follows your commands and assists you as you’re exploring the forest. He’s also your alarm clock to signaling to you there’s danger nearby, and your faithful companion. Here’s how you can use Bullet to his fullest while playing Blair Witch.

How To Use Bullet in Blair Witch

He Does Not Have a Health Bar

You do not need to treat Bullet like a traditional companion in a video game. He does not have a health bar, and he cannot die. He operates similarly to a tool in your toolbelt you can freely use without fear of losing it. He’s an ideal companion who can take care of himself, so whenever you’re in danger, you need to focus on yourself, not on him.

Listen to Him and Observe his Body Language

Bullet is a trusted companion who knows right from wrong. As such, he wants to ensure your safety and is going to warn you about it as soon as it gets close to the pair of you. When Bullet starts barking, or you notice his body language changing to a particular stance, you want to accordingly to it. He’s going to have a more extensive amount of information available to him, due to his heightened senses.

Use Your Commands

You want to use the available commands when calling him to your advantage. You should have five available to you. Before you can use any of them, you need to call. To summon Bullet to your position, for mouse and keyboard you want to press “C,” while those using a controller need to hit LB button.

When have Bullet’s attention, and he’s in front of you, look down at him. You then want to hold “C,” or the LB button, to bring up the various options available to you. You’re going to have:

  • Seek
  • Reprimand
  • Pet (Praise)
  • Close
  • Stay Close

These commands are essential for operating with Bullet. As you progress the game, your choices of how you deal with him are going to matter. For example, how you praise and reprimand him, depending on his actions.

He Helps Keep You Sane

When you’re in the think of you, you may not be able to tell reality from the supernatural craziness happening around you. The main character, Ellis, is going to have his loneliness start spiking as he finds himself in dangerous situations, away from people. Bullet is his only connection to the outside world and is going to matter as things start to get worse. To help build up Ellis’ sanity, you can call Bullet to him and have him Pet Bullet, making things a bit better. It won’t fix the situation, but Bullet helps Ellis keep it together and see it through to the end.

Feeding Bullet

Bullet has a lot of weight to shoulder by being Ellis’ companion as they both do battle with the witch. As such, he deserves a good treat. While you’re playing the game, you’re going to discover treats around the forest you can give Bullet for being a good boy. When you find them, you can access them from your inventory to give to Bullet. He certainly deserves it!
