At E3 2019, Bloober Team took the stage at Microsoft’s media briefing to reveal Blair Witch, a game inspired by the movie that released twenty years ago and in being worked on together with IP owner Lionsgate to celebrate the incoming anniversary.

It is launching on August 30, 2019, for PC and Xbox One, which has surprisingly left out of the count PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch owners, who were instead supported aplenty with the previous launches from the Polish studio.

In an interview with Eurogamer, though, Maciej Glomb, member of the development team, has said that more platforms will be discussed “in the future” as Bloober is still interested in releasing the game on them once a timed exclusivity deal expires.

“For now, we are focusing on Xbox and PC, but we will discuss the other platforms in the future,” said Blomb, while writer Basia Kciuk added on Switch that “we don’t have a comment at this point.” In the meantime, “you can look at our other games like Layers of Fear and Observer.”

“The Switch version wasn’t released at the start, but it came out finally, so it might be a similar situation here. But, still, we don’t really know what’s going to happen,” Glomb said, which is quite a good hint about similar situations happening again in the future.

Blair Witch looks very good, and it’s about to drop in a couple of months.
