The final Zombies map for Black Ops Cold War, called Forsaken, is releasing with Season 6, as confirmed by a post on Treyarch’s website is concluded the Dark Aether’s opening chapter, and will be continuing in Vanguard.

The new Dark Aether Story has been a strong success for the franchise, and everything has been building to an epic finale that is going to be delivered in this final round based zombie map for the game, called ‘Forsaken’, including plenty of story content, new weapons, and new enemies to fight.

Story

In terms of story, everything is reaching its climax in the war between Requiem and Omega, both on a mission to retrieve the lost Russian, Zykov, from the Dark Aether, and to defeat the enemy known as the Forsaken. In addition to this, there will be plenty more story in the addition of intel, which will help to flesh out the story of the final map, Forsaken, just as it did in previous seasons and Zombies content updates.

Gameplay Content

For the gameplay of Forsaken, massive additions are coming alongside it. The first is the addition of a brand new wonder weapon, called the Chrysalax. From the early gameplay and images we’ve seen, it has two different versions, one is a devastating melee weapon, and the other is a firearm that can destroy the hoards with ease.

A tenth and final perk is arriving in Cold War in Season 6 Zombies, that being PHD Slider. This is a returning perk from Black Ops 4, which creates a large explosion when players slide into their enemies. PHD Slider will also have 5 upgrades like all other perks and we’re looking forward to seeing what they are. Aside from this, Death Perception will be getting its own machine on the map, as until now it has only been available from the Wunderfizz machine.

Enemies

Alongside the never-ending zombie hoard, some new enemies are coming with it. The first is a new monster that bears a strong resemblance to the Margwas of Black Ops 3 Zombies, although they seem to have been combined with the hellhounds and nova crawlers, which zombie fans will be all too familiar with.

The Forsaken itself will also be coming in some shape or form, as this entity is serving as the main antagonist of the Dark Aether Story, and a confrontation in the latest map is all but inevitable for players to face in the final Zombies map ‘Forsaken’.

For a brief catch-up with the Dark Aether Story, Treyarch released a new video, with lead writer Craig Houston recapping the story so far. To check the latest patch noted for Cold War, check out our article on the update.
