The cut campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was leaked today.

A video posted by Reddit user ForeverDexus shows footage of a mission that would’ve taken place in the campaign. Many of the models are unfinished, meaning there are a lot of blank faces and vague enemies. Regardless, we can see that the player would’ve made their way through a monastery and a seafood restaurant. Those two things always go together, after all.

Fans of Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 4 will notice that the environment looks like the multiplayer map, Seaside.

The mission structure does seem to be quite developed. There is some dialogue, although not much. It seems like the mission only needed a little bit more detail and polish to wrap up.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a Black Ops 4 campaign. Kotaku reported in 2018 that the exclusively multiplayer shooter had a campaign mode that was scrapped two years into development. The article also details the development of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which had its obstacles, hence the cut campaign.

The campaign, at one point, was supposed to have an “ambitious two v. two multiplayer mechanic.” When this wasn’t really working, though, Treyarch opted for a more standard single-player campaign, but that was cut as well in favor of the battle royale mode, Blackout.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is certainly a very good game with a great battle royale mode, although some (including us) missed a campaign. Now, however, Black Ops 4 is not the only Call of Duty battle royale title out there after the release of Call of Duty Warzone.

All we can hope for now is a strong campaign for the next Black Ops title. The title for 2020’s Call of Duty release has possibly been revealed, and it implies exciting possibilities.
