After almost three years since the release of Black Mirror, Season 5 was released on Netflix, reported by Variety, and confirmed by Deadline; Black Mirror is coming back for Season 6. Like other shows on the streaming service like Love, Death, and Robots, Black Mirror follows the layout of The Twilight Zone. Each episode is its own standalone innovative drama that stretches the mind and causes conversation and questions to follow. According to other sources, a new anthology series of Black Mirror is coming together, with casting decisions on the way.

Creators of the series, Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones are bringing it back to Netflix with their new company Broke & Bones. The pair left the production company that owns the Black Mirror rights, but thankfully their new company eventually reached a deal with rightsholder Banijay to license the show to Netflix.

The sixth season of Netflix’s Black Mirror will most likely follow the pattern of the fifth season, where the number of episodes was narrowed down to three episodes, each being extended to feature film length. The three Black Mirror episodes released in 2019 included ‘Striking Vipers‘ which starred Anthony Mackie, ‘Smithereens’ which starred Topher Grace and Damson Idris, and lastly ‘Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too’ which starred Miley Cyrus as Ashley O. Allegedly, Season 6 of Black Mirror will be even more cinematic, and each episode will also be treated as its own individual film.

Black Mirror wasn’t always on Netflix. The anthology series started in 2011 and aired for two seasons on Channel 4, a U.K. Broadcaster. Netflix purchased Black Mirror in September 2015, and after heading to Netflix for its third season in 2016, the dark and twisted anthology series became a global phenomenon. Its crazy stories got even more accolades as the episodes became big-budget, star-studded, and sewn throughout with professional high-quality production value.
