As The CW’s Black Lightning comes closer to its final end, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III has dropped some hints about what’s going to happen to his character Tobias Whale. Throughout the show’s four-season run, Tobias has been the biggest threat to Freeland and it looks like the Black Lightning series finale is going to give him an end worthy of his stature.
The penultimate episode of the series dropped a major cliffhanger, with Tobias seemingly killing Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) once and for all. Now we know that can’t just be it but according to Jones, Khalil Payne/Painkiller (Jordan Calloway) is just as likely as Jefferson to be the one who brings Tobias down.
Jones spoke with ComicBook, saying the following:
“I was very satisfied,” he added. “It’s funny that I’m saying that because I’ve been going back and forth for the last six months on how this could end. I am satisfied and happy with the conclusion.”
Of course, Black Lightning isn’t the only show coming to its end in the Arrowverse. Supergirl will also be ending soon with Superman & Lois successfully spinning out of it. As hard as it is for fans to say goodbye to these characters, at least it looks like they’ll be going out with a bang.
