The Epic Games Store continues its Mega Sale week with a second free game, following up Borderlands 3 with BioShock: The Collection! From today until June 2, users on the Epic Games Store can score themselves three excellent BioShock experiences completely free. After the week, the game will also be available for purchase there should you have missed the free deal.

What is BioShock: The Collection?

For those unaware, BioShock: The Collection is a remastered collection of the current three releases in the BioShock series. The first game, BioShock Remastered, follows the story of an unnamed passenger as his plane crashes near a lighthouse, which houses the entrance to a giant underwater city known as Rapture. The second game, BioShock 2 Remastered, follows a Big Daddy (an enemy in the first game) as it adventures through the city in search of answers and their survival method. And finally, BioShock Infinite follows Booker DeWitt as he ventures to the sky city of Columbia to find a missing girl named Elizabeth. However, the island houses several hostile forces.

BioShock: The Collection is infamous as one of the greatest first-person shooter series of all time, selling 38 million copies to date and achieving massive critical and commercial success. To have the opportunity to play the games for free is massive, especially since 2K developer Cloud Chamber is currently developing the fourth game in the series. We don’t know too much about it yet, though we know it’s likely to come at PC and consoles at a later date. Considering it was also revealed to be happening fairly recently, chances are we won’t be seeing the title for a while. Then again, who knows what could happen.

In the meantime, I’d like to hear your thoughts on the news. Will you be scoring BioShock: The Collection for free off the Epic Games Store? If you’ve already played the games, which one is your favorite? Let me know!
