Late-night television talk shows will be seeing big changes in 2023. James Corden is leaving the Late Late Show, and Trevor Noah has left The Daily Show. Samantha Bee’s Full Frontal was canceled by David Zaslav of Warner Bros. Discovery. Desus & Mero is no more, despite their show previously being a success. Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert are still going strong with their late-night talk shows. Amber Ruffin still has her show and Ziwe continues to grow in popularity with hers. Late-night television at least has much more variety than it used to. CBS will be lowering the budget for The Late Late Show from $60 million to $35 million a year. They will also test out the right “replacement format“. This doesn’t mean they’ll just pull any social media influencer to replace James Corden. Maybe the diversity of late-night talk shows will only grow and improve.

Big Changes for Hosts like Seth Meyers and the Former Host Trevor Noah

There are rumors that Seth Meyers will replace Lorne Michaels’ role on Saturday Night Live. If you’re wondering what that would mean for the late-night television show Late Night with Seth Meyers. Roy Wood Jr. and Desi Lydic are the top candidates being considered to replace Trevor Noah on The Daily Show. Until Paramount Global decides on a permanent replacement there are many guest hosts like Chelsea Handler and Kal Penn that will fill the seat. Trevor Noah and Seth Meyers have some big choices to make with their careers. Late-night talk shows are changing hosts, and it can make or break their fanbase. The Daily Show is even considering a Weekend Update-style for it. CNN is throwing its hat into the ring as another option for late-night shows. After many layoffs and Chris Licht taking over, Licht is considering a late-night television show to jumpstart the network.

Whichever changes are made for these talk shows, late-night could look a lot different this time next year.
