Beyond Good & Evil 2 is one of the most anticipated games around, even though it’s so early in its development that we don’t even know which platforms it is releasing for. While we don’t have many details to share with you at this stage, we have a new statement from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, who talked about the title in an interview with a French outlet (via ResetEra).

Guillemot discussed the game during an interview on the occasion of the opening of a brand new 12-million building for Ubisoft Montpellier, which is the studio of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

“Montpellier is a very important world studio for us, which has shown the way to innovation thanks to Rayman,” he said. “Our teams are currently working on Beyond Good and Evil 2, which is likely to have a major impact on video games.”

Ubisoft CEO remarked that the title is “designed by Michel Ancel,” and “aims to revolutionize adventure games and open world is particularly expected by players.”

It remains to be seen how it aims to do so, but from the things we’ve witnessed thus far, it’s all about the scope of the world and the freedom player have at their disposal throughout the environment and the modes.

At this stage, as said, the game doesn’t have a release date nor window, and it hasn’t even been attached to specific platforms, which is seemingly a hint about its next-gen or at least cross-gen nature.
