In recent memory, Bethesda has had an interesting past year, all things considered. After shipping Doom Eternal with id Software, fans were excited to see more as the company has so many projects in the works. Announcing their new ownership under Microsoft in September, many questions have arisen over the future of their multi-platform releases. With the announcement of a new title, these conversations are sure to arise again. As most of Bethesda’s subsidiaries work on new titles, so will speculation and doubt after Microsoft’s acquisition. Still, Bethesda carries on to deliver meaningful experiences and has teased an upcoming one on Twitter. Published in a short half-minute clip is a teaser for an upcoming Indiana Jones video game.

The announcement certainly comes as quite a surprise with very little known outside of the announcement made today. The clip pans across a desk as a classic nod to the types of pan overs fans have witnessed in many Indiana Jones films before. Showcasing the logos of Bethesda, developer Machine Games, and finally, the copyright holder Lucasfilm. The trailer then subsequently ends with a few frames of a famous archeologist’s signature fedora and whip. With the series receiving a new film within another year, a new video game would service the series well.

Bethesda also included a short message to fans stating the title would take place in a brand new story with Todd Howard serving as Executive Producer once more. Despite also stating that It will be some time before more news can be shared, it makes one wonder why Bethesda decided on a softer announcement. Hopefully, with this year being better for game development as a whole, choosing to announce earlier in the year could mean a fast release. Despite no other information or release date being confirmed yet, it’s likely fans will have to wait until another year has passed before getting this title onto their systems.
