Bethesda Game Studios announced today that the Nintendo Switch version of its mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Blades, originally planned for a Fall 2019 release, has been delayed.

“We know how eager our players are to dive into Blades on the Nintendo Switch and we’ve been hard at work to make it happen,” the developer stated in today’s Town Hall update. “Unfortunately, amidst all the other changes we’re making to Blades, we’ve had to delay our Switch release until early 2020.”

The post goes on to explain that patch 1.5 will be coming to The Elder Scrolls: Blades sometime in early December, before jumping into all the changes to the game that will come with the update. One of the changes is the removal of chest timers, allowing players to open all chests immediately without having to wait.

The update will also include many more loot drops. Enemies and bosses will drop more loot than they currently do, and more breakables will be included so players can collect more loot that way too.

Further, update 1.5 will bring guilds to the game. Players will be able to trade with and visit the towns of their fellow guild members.

Finally, update 1.5 will also give players access to the PvP arena. Players will have to be at least level 5 to participate in battles against other players. PvP matches will be three rounds each, with players needing to win two of the three rounds to win the match. Players will be able to switch up their skills and equipment between rounds to keep their rivals on their toes. Winning matches will award the victor with loot and higher positions on the game’s leaderboard. PvP matches will allow for cross-play between both iOS and Android devices, as well as the Switch version when it eventually releases.
