Bethesda have during their first show at E3 that they’re launching a new service, known as Bethesda.net. This service is designed to co-ordinate the online aspects of Bethesda’s increasing stable of games, including The Elder Scrolls Online, and will provide support for the recently unveiled DOOM Snapmap. At the moment, the website is extremely basic, displaying only a Bethesda logo on a dark background. Even a look at the source code reveals little at present.

It has, we assume, no overlap with Bethesdanet.com, a Christian community church with an app to help connect believers to sermons and services. Although there are some similarities — Bethesda.net is also designed to connect members of the gaming community, and will be launching forums and articles to help it become a go-to source for players, much in the style of Blizzard’s Battle.net site or Bioware’s social forums.

And if reaction to the Fallout 4 trailer is any indication, Bethesda.net will also be home to a near-religious following of its own.
