Bethesda is working on a “brand-new, next generation” science-fiction adventure game, Starfield.
The developer announced the new title during the Besthesda press conference at E3 2018. It’s Bethesda’s first new franchise in 25 years. Starfield is expected to be released as a single-player game that will launch sometime after 2018.
The game is a long way off, but Bethesda decided to try something a bit different and offer fans a peek at games coming a bit later. Little is known about the game, other than it’s setting—from the teaser trailer, it appears to be set in space and feature space travel.
Rumors of Starfield have been swirling around for years now, but Bethesda has been tight-lipped on the new franchise. Bethesda director Todd Howard didn’t give many details—just that it’s a single-player experience—but it’s more information than we’ve had in the past. As expected, no release date was announced for Starfield. It’s likely years off, at this point.
