There are many paths that you can take to build Geralt into an unstoppable monster slayer in Witcher 3. But what about the early game, when you don’t have enough skill or knowledge on what works best? In this guide, we will help you get over some early-game hurdles, after which you can figure out what you like to play enough to tailor your build to suit your playstyle.

What are the best early-game builds in Witcher 3?

The best build for Witcher 3 early game will depend on your playstyle. You can base your starter build around what attack speed you like the most and what armor category you feel the most comfortable with. From this point, you can progress further with your build. We have composed two builds that are great for the early game period. Note that we decided to exclude the Euphoria Build since the developers have nerfed it.

Signs build for the early game in Witcher 3

This build weakens the armor on your opponents, which makes them more susceptible to your attacks. We are maxing out Melt Armor and Exploding Shield Signs and increasing Survival Instinct, Rage Management, and Gourment for General skills. This will allow you to forget about your stamina when you use Igni and Quen.

Fast Attacks and Crits build for the early game in Witcher 3

In this early build variant, we will use Resolve and Muscle Memory from Combat Skills to deal critical damage to enemies with light attacks. Gourment will also provide us with passive health regeneration, and this is a great way to increase survivability in all early-game builds.
