An all-rounded SMG loadout for the field.
In Call Of Duty: Vanguard, as with every entry before it, a huge array of weaponry is at your disposal. Ready to be leveled up and customized in whichever way fits your playstyle. Ranging from standard assault rifles and submachine guns to more range-focused weaponry, such as snipers at a distance and shotguns focused on the up-close and personal. Attachments on weaponry have seen a major increase this year, with Gunsmith being more action-packed than ever. Below, you can find an in-depth class setup for one of the most famous submachine guns in history, the M1928, known to many as the “Tommy Gun”.
M1928 Class Setup
The M1928 is a suitable firearm for the short to middle range especially. Devasting up close if aimed correctly, the loadout below illustrates some of the best additions the weapon can receive once levelled up significantly.
- Muzzle – M1929 Silencer
- Barrel – CGC 14.5″ Shrouded
- Optic – Slate Reflector
- Stock – Chariot Marksman
- Underbarrel – M1941 Hand Stop
- Magazine – 9MM 50 Round Drums
- Ammo Type – Lengthened
- Rear Grip – Polymer Grip
- Proficiency – Sleight Of Hand
- Kit – Quick
Muzzle
In regards to the muzzle attachment, the M1929 Silencer is a well-rounded fit for the M1928. Keeping your actions quiet and your enemy mini-map reveals down to a minimum. Stealth is a benefit always in Call Of Duty: Vanguard, allowing for flanks in behind, even when opening fire, you remain hidden to a certain degree.
Barrel
The CGC 14.5″ Shrouded barrel boosts accuracy whilst also keeping recoil under control. For such a quick-firing weapon, recoil, if handled incorrectly, can prove to be an issue. With this attachment, recoil and hip-fire accuracy are more manageable.
Optic
For the optic attachment, the most popular sight as of currently is the Slate Reflector. Sights are more of a preference than a requirement, but in this case, it acts as your casual red dot sight from previous entries. Aiding you with a clear sightline and accuracy through a minuscule reticle.
Stock
Adding a Chariot Marksman stock, sacrifices some movement speed, in return for an added bonus of more recoil control and quicker ADS speed. Further down the list, the “Kit” suggestion helps overcome the movement downgrade.
Underbarrel
With the addition of the M1941 Hand Stop, recoil and accuracy are improved whilst sacrificing a small part of hip accuracy, with a better grip on recoil, firing at enemies at long range is made to be so much more easier.
Magazine
Although the 9MM 50 Round Drums lower damage, the +5 recoil control and accuracy benefit the weapon in the long run, with even more accuracy and boosted handling. Also, movement speed and fire rate are greatly increased.
Ammo Type
Equipping a Lengthened ammo type aids in your weapons bullet velocity. Not to be confused with higher fire rates, bullet velocity is the speed in which the fired bullets travel after being shot, winning you a gunfight that bit quicker.
Rear Grip
In this attachment setting, the Polymer Grip aids you in accuracy and flinch resistance. Sustained fire is more accurate and includes less recoil. With the addition of flinch resistance, the huge M1928 clips can be used to their potential effectively.
Proficiency
For this category, Sleight Of Hand should be one of the first things you think of. The drum magazine of the M1928, although packing a punch, requires quite some time for reloading. With this proficiency bonus, you’re saving time and getting back into the fight quicker.
Kit
Finally, this section is short and sweet. Equipping the Speed variant of this attachment boosts your overall movement momentum. Partnered with a submachine gun and a close quarters map for surrounding, you’ll be flying around whilst your enemies will struggle to keep their focus on you.
Secondary
The choice of backup weapon is an important one. For this class setup, the Machine Pistol is the best recommendation available. Sporting a fast fire rate, if needed in a hurry, its guaranteed to help you get one over on your adversary when under fire.
Lethal
Whilst having various choices at your disposal, the main lethal to go along with your M1928 class is the Gammon Bomb. Designed as an explode-on-impact grenade, the added bonus of not having a cook time for detonation helps whilst trading shots with an enemy for that little bit more of a paced attack. Any lethal will help in-game as they are more of a preference than a necessity.
Tactical
The choice of throwable here is completely up to you, the Stim is one of the most rewarding items to have for quick-paced gunplay, but stuns and smokes also suit a more slow approach. Overall, there isn’t much room for error when throwables are concerned, you can find whichever one suits you best out of the available options,
Best Perks to Use With M1928
Perk 1 – For the first of three sections, each of the six available perks to you is beneficial. However, in this case, the Ghost perk is the most suitable. Seeing how easy spy planes and personal radars are to come by, keeping yourself off the grid with a low profile, helps you get that all-important drop on your enemy.
Perk 2 – For this category, the Tracker perk ever so slightly beats the Radar substitute. Helping you trace enemy footsteps and hide death markers. This yet again falls under the “Stealth” category. Paired with Ghost for invisibility, you’re on the move whilst also catching any stragglers by the traces they unknowingly leave behind.
Perk 3 – The final perk for our loadout consists of the Scavenger variant. Keeping with the theme of pace, taking on enemy after enemy is a definite way to burn through your ammo. With this equipped, your streaks will continue on longer and you won’t find yourself struggling to pick up a dropped weapon or search for ammo in the crossfire, keeping you equipped and prepared constantly.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is out for Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC via Battle.net.
