Recurrent Impact is a brand new machine gun in Destiny 2. This weapon has managed to bring back machine guns into the PvE meta during the Season of the Risen. Although this weapon drops with random rolls, crafting it is also an option. Here is our pick of the perks you could craft for this weapon.

  • Frame: Rapid-Fire frame (Deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when magazine is empty.)Barrel: Arrowhead Brake (Greatly controls recoil, increases handling speed.) Magazine: Tactical Mag (Increases reload speed, slightly increases magazine size.)Basic Perk 1: Stats for All (Hitting three separate targets increases weapon handling, stability, reload speed and range for a moderate duration. 10000 Adroit element required for crafting.)Basic Perk 2: Headstone (Killing a target with this weapon spawns a stasis crystal at the victim’s location. 10000 Mutable element required for crafting.)

Instead of the Stats for All perk, you could also try the Subsistence perk. With this trait, you will partially reload your magazine from reserves if you defeat targets with this weapon. That said, feel free to experiment with other perk that this weapon has to offer to see which fits your playstyle the best.

Why these perks for the Recurring Impact?

Machine guns in Destiny 2 aren’t really known for their accuracy. Here’s where the Arrowhead Brake and the Stats for All perks come into play. If you want to hit your mark, you could do with a lot of recoil control.

Machine guns are also known to run out of their bullets pretty quickly. And since the magazines are bulky, reloading them can take ages—and you really don’t want to be caught reloading your weapon in the middle of a Hive swarm. That’s where the Tactical Mag and the Rapid Fire Frame excel. These two perks give you an increased magazine size and quicker reload times.

Finally, the Headstone perk is an interesting bit in this mix. These stasis crystals that spawn in place of your victims act as a temporary cover. When you destroy these crystals, the shrapnel hits enemies in a small area, damaging them.
