Nature is an important aspect of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Nature can be used to maximize a Pokémon’s efficiency in battle, as it affects two of a Pokémon’s stats (attack, defense, special attack, special defense, or speed). A Pokémon’s Nature should complement its stats in a way that increases its strengths and minimizes its weaknesses. A Pokémon’s Nature can be seen in its summary screen in-game.
The “Lava Dome” legendary, Heatran, is a Fire and Steel-type Pokémon. It has a massive special attack stat, allowing it to deal huge blows to opponents in battle. While it has a 4x weakness to Ground-type moves, that is only one of three weaknesses. Its dual-typing gives the Pokémon a huge list of resistances as well.

How to choose the best Nature
Since Heatran has such a high special attack capability, it is good to have a Nature that compliments this advantage. Quiet will raise Heatran’s special attack at the cost of its speed. Speed won’t be a huge asset in battle for this Pokémon anyways. Modest will raise special attack but lower the attack stat of Heatran. If players choose either of these Natures, especially Modest, they should be sure to use special attacks in battle rather than physical attacks, as those will benefit from the Natures.
The choice of which Nature is best for a Pokémon ultimately comes down to the player and how they use the Pokémon in battle. If players lean more towards physical attacks when battling opponents, then attack-based Natures will be best. Heatran has a high special attack, attack, special defense, and defense, so it is very versatile for use and Natures.
