In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, moves determine your Pokémon’s potential in battle. Pokémon will naturally learn more powerful ones as it levels up, but you can also visit Zisu in Jubilife Village to have it learn others for a price. This is true for every Pokémon in the game, including Pikachu and Raichu—the former being the series’ favorite mouse.

Best moves for Pikachu and Raichu

Both Pikachu and Raichu have equally high Attack and Sp. Attack stats (with Raichu getting a huge boost on it). This means you can either build them to be physical attackers or special attackers.

Moves that are used by Pokémon of the same type have their base damage increased by 50%. We call this same-type attack bonus (STAB). Thunderbolt is going to be your Pokémon’s main STAB move due to its high power. Thunder is for when you need a particularly strong Pokémon. Its Accuracy is not at 100, so use it in Strong Style for the added aim boost.

However, given their shared movepool in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you’ll have more options for building them into special attackers. Below are the best moves they can learn:

  • Quick Attack (learned at level 5)Thunder Wave (learned at level 9)Thunderbolt (learned at level 29)Thunder (learned at level 47)

Quick Attack is there so Pikachu and Raichu can potentially get two turns consecutively (or another turn later on) when you first use it in Agile Style. After all, Speed is both of their highest stat. Speed determines the number of turns a Pokémon can get.

Lastly, you have Thunder Wave. Thunder Wave is good not just for immobilizing Pokémon but for making them easier to capture. Pikachu and Raichu are very good buddies to bring during outbreaks in the water.
