Below Deck chef Rachel Hargrove calls out Bravo for paying so little. This is in comparison to other Bravo shows, where the talent gets paid far more. Hargrove specifically called out the salary difference between Below Deck and Southern Charm. But there is a myriad of reasons for the difference, as you will learn. We can understand her frustration, but also, in that world, you best be careful not to bite the hand that feeds.

Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and sometimes, it just gets replaced.

Below Deck Chef Rachel Hargrove Calls Out Bravo

Via RealityTea:

“Recently, the chef from seasons 7 and 8 of Below Deck took to Twitter to sound off about the ‘disrespectful’ pay discrepancy for Below Deck cast members, and she’s got fans talking. The Below Deck star tweeted, ‘Do you know how much Southern Charm cast make per episode? And what the #1 show on Bravo cast make? Don’t even let me start! #belowdeck #51minds #mountainviewproductions #bravotv’. ‘I’m not mad at NBC or Bravo and people keep tagging Andy [Cohen] on their replays… I don’t know who’s at fault for this but it’s just plain disrespectful…Especially the fact that they show the reruns all of the time.’”

Below Deck chef Rachel Hargrove calls out Bravo, but upon closer inspection, her argument holds little weight for one simple reason. Below Deck has an ever-changing roster of unknown talent. Most people are shuffled in and shuffled out. Whereas on some other Bravo reality TV shows, you have recurring characters across many seasons.

The overall thought is that the pay for the Below Deck cast reflects how novice they are in the reality TV world. It still makes sense; it’s incredibly frustrating for Rachel Hargrove, but at least there is a solid reason behind it. It may not be fair, but whoever said life was fair? A fan on social media asked Hargrove if they could negotiate their contracts but got no response.
