Hellena Taylor, the voice of Bayonetta 1 and 2’s titular character, is taking to Twitter to urge fans to boycott the upcoming Bayonetta 3. Why Hellena Taylor Wants Bayonetta 3 Boycotted

During her thread on Twitter, Taylor explains that she did not return to Bayonetta 3 due to the amount she was offered to voice the protagonist. She reveals that she was offered $4000 total for the entire game. When she didn’t agree to this offer, Nintendo and PlatinumGames opted to replace her with Jennifer Hale. Taylor explains that this is a massive insult to the time she spent learning her craft. It is also insulting to contribution to voicing the series’ protagonist up to this point.

She urges fans of the series not to spend their money to support the upcoming game. Instead, she asks that you spend the money donating to a charity. Taylor also sees this as a way to take a stand for people who get underpaid for their talents. An example she uses is nurses that have to go to food banks to feed their children. She also goes into her own history of not making enough money to make a living.

Bayonetta 3 Release Date Has Been Announced

Hideki Kamiya, the executive producer of Bayonetta 3, has since responded to the accusation via a Tweet, simply saying the following:

Many fans were disappointed that Hellena Taylor didn’t reprise her role. However, we now have an explanation as to why there is a new voice actor. With Bayonetta 3 coming out on October 28, fans will be able to decide soon if they want to listen to Hellena Taylor, the original voice actors’ boycott or not.
