This week’s Japanese charts feature a number of new releases, although few of them managed strong numbers, according to Media Create. While PlayStation consoles received games like the Secret of Mana remake, IDOLiSH7 Twelve Fantasia! and a new entry of Cyber Troopers, the sole release for Nintendo Switch were the ports of Bayonetta 1 and 2, which didn’t seem to translate the online hype into sales.

But the results of Bayonetta shouldn’t come as a surprise considering that the numbers of Bayonetta 2 for Wii U -the first entry to be developed exclusively for a Nintendo platform- were only slightly less insignificant. The highest charting version is the bundle with both games, which is also the only way to purchase the original entry in physical format, but even with that incentive the game could only make it to number 13 on the list. The individial release of Bayonetta 2 enters the charts one place below at 14. The sum of both versions still isn’t enough to match the debut of Bayonetta 2 on Wii U.

Software sales this week were specially low, which means that the numbers enough to miss the top 10 would have pushed those games to the bottom of the top20 on a regular week. The only title to pull truly good sales is Monster Hunter: World, which consolidates its position as the biggest success of Capcom in the current generation.

On the hardware chart, PS4 continues to lead the list, although the difference with Nintendo Switch is getting smaller every week, just as the boost for Monster Hunter disappears.
