Star Wars Battlefront II’s latest patch has introduced BB-8, BB-9E, and bought back the Scarif Map. BB-8 and BB-9E have been added to the Hero Roster, whereas the Scarif Map returns from Star Wars: Battlefront.

The month ahead sees the return of the Original Trilogy, as well as the Age of Rebellion to the game. Furthermore, there’ll be themed planets in Co-Op and Supremacy, (no longer Capital Supremacy).

There are also a number of “quality-of-life” changes to Battlefront II. Following the delay of BB-8 and BB-9E to Battlefront II, the “critical issue”, as described by EA Dice, appears to have been fixed.

The Battlefront II developers said they were glad to have discovered the issue before it was released onto the live servers.

The Scarif Map’s return is a welcome one, considering its popularity. The Scarif Map will lend itself to the “ground-based gameplay”, the focus of Age of Rebellion.

BB-8 is an offensive Astromech, with a rolling charge ability, quick speed, and if cornered, can produce a Cable Spin.

Elsewhere, BB-9E is described as “cold, calculating, and will play more of a support role,”

The droid can use a Smoke Screen to reveal enemies. Plus there’s the Charge Up. This will ramp up his Shock Prod and teammates’ blasters into the super-success mode.

BB-9E can also prevent blasters from overheating and shorten ability cooldowns. Lastly, BB-9E will emit a Shock Spin, an electric pulse that can damage enemies.

The popular character can also use a shock prod to fix electrical damage to a target. For details on the droids, Scarif Map, and everything else in Battlefront II, check out the full notes for the patch here.
