More details and a release date for the newly titled ‘Cooperation Update’ have been released, revealing all-new details for Star Wars Battlefront II.
Firstly, the perfectly dubbed Cooperation Update, is releasing on September 25th. With this update comes a barrage of new features to freshly invigorate the Battlefront. These are:
- The Clone Commando,
- Felucia,
- Instant Action,
- Co-Op play,
- New cosmetics,
- The future of the Battlefront
Battlefront II‘s Clone Commando
The Clone Commando is the Republics’ counter to the recently added Droideka. In terms of abilities, the trooper has a repulsor to knock enemies off of there feet, allowing you to mow them down with your DC-17M. Though there is more than one way to mow these enemies down. Your weapon is equipped with an Anti-Armour Attachment as well as standard repeating blaster fire. The Battle Focus Ability provides a damage reduction buff to nearby allies, while also replenishing the Commando’s own health if the damage is down to an enemy at the same time.
In Dice’s own words,
Felucia
After a few months of excitement, another famous clone-wars planet is being released. ‘There’s nowhere quite like Felucia.’
Battlefront II Brings Instant Action Back
Since the original reboot to the series in 2015, one thing has been on fans’ minds more than anything; the return of Instant Action. It means fans can finally jump into offline, large scale combat against AI foes to control the outposts across the map. (For old fans, its similar to how the ground phase in Capital Supremacy works).
Speaking of wildlife: did we mention the giant sarlacc pit? There’s a giant sarlacc pit! Don’t fall down.
Similarly, the Co-Op mode (up to four players) allows you to take on these enemy hoards together.
Farmboy Luke and the Future of the Battlefront
Luke’s first outfit is coming to Battlefront II and is collectible, not through credits, but a special in-game challenge from October the 11th to the 18th. The mission is simple; defeat 150 enemies in the new Co-Op mode. A Maul emote is also available in the same time frame, where you’re tasked with 15 successful outpost captures in capital supremacy on Felcucia.
On the future of Battlefront, Dice are continuing to remind us of new content tied in with The Rise of Skywalker, though so far details are lacking. But at least that’s something to look forward to.
Anyway, for now, we have a bunch of new content dropping on September the 25th, so that should last until December (hopefully). For more on Battlefront II and other gaming content, check out our other articles on TheNerdStash.
