Battlefield V debut trailer has generated a lot of controversy among the members of the community because it featured female soldiers and fancy vanity items that many thought would harm the series’ historical accuracy.
While the controversy about the female soldiers was a bit stupid, because World War II had female soldiers no matter what you think about that, the issue with vanity items could’ve been real as customization could’ve gone too far from the real thing.
Anyway, in a recent interview with PC Gamer, DICE producer Andreas Morrell has provided a few but clear statements about what’s going on with Battlefield V vanity items, which are said to be in line with the setting.
“It needs to be believable. It needs to fit with the era. We’re not creating a steampunk universe or anything like that. But if it was used, we can have it,” Morrell said (via WCCFTech).
“Doing research for this, we stumbled across a guy called ‘Mad Jack’ Churchill, a British guy who was part of the Norwegian campaign. He was the only one who’s got a confirmed kill with a sword in World War Il.
He used to go into battle with a bagpipe and a Scottish broadsword. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we included a bagpipe as an item because there was one crazy guy who used it.”
Battlefield V is releasing on October 19, 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with a believable flow of vanity items, now you know it.
