In the latest trailer from Gamescom, we’ve had a very quick first look at what the Battlefield V battle royale will be like. DICE isn’t apparently ready to show it in public yet, or isn’t willing to focus on it ahead of the launch of the game.

The community of the Swedish developer isn’t taking the decision to fully allocate its resources on the upcoming Battlefield V and in particular on the battle royale, which will undoubtedly take a lot of effort from the studio.

On Reddit, one user in particular wanted to remind Star Wars Battlefront II players that DICE was taking resources, in terms of money and devs, from that team and pouring them onto the battle royale.

This occurrence has been debunked by F8RGE, the global manager and community engagement responsible, who clearly said that the battle royale isn’t currently in the making at DICE itself.

“Royale is being made by a different studio, not DICE,” F8RGE told the Reddit users, without adding more information on top of this, like the identity of this new studio working on the mode.

From the looks of it, the battle royale isn’t apparently in the making at DICE in Stockholm nor at the other division in Los Angeles, so it looks like the developer has reached another software house to handle the battle royale.

Battlefield V is releasing on October 11, 2018, but the battle royale mode is coming at a later stage. It’ll be interesting to see when this is coming and how it’ll look like, especially now that we know that there’s another team at work on it.
