The release of Battlefield 3 is just around the corner, and today EA revealed the current pre-order figures for the game.  As it stands, Battlefield 3 has already sold 1.25 million copies of the game. Relative to time until release, Battlefield 3 is outpacing any of the previous Battlefield games.  EA’s CFO Eric Brown detailed the stats at the Citi 2011 Tech Conference.

“To date we have about 1.25 million preorders on Battlefield 3,” Brown said. “So it’s still well ahead of its predecessor title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, in regards to preorders relative to the same number of weeks to launch, so it’s doing very well.”

It’s no secret that there is some serious demand building up for Battlefield 3, and I have a feeling that after people are able to see what DICE has in store when the multiplayer beta begins, this number could rise considerably leading up to release. We recently got to get hands on with Battlefield 3 on the PlayStation 3 & PC and were impressed to say the least.
