David Goldfarb, the lead designer responsible for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has left DICE according to reports this morning. Goldfarb says it was time to move on, but assures fans that they have nothing to worry about in regards to the Battlefield franchise.

Goldfarb is not leaving for greener pastures, the developer isn’t quite sure where he’ll land at this point.  Goldfarb expressed his gratitude towards DICE during his tenure.  “5 years, 4 games.  Grateful to have worked with such awesome people on awesome games.  Farewell + Onward,” the developer said via Twitter.

With no confirmed plans for a Battlefield 4 or Bad Company 3 on the horizon, its unclear who will handle Goldfarb’s duties on the next Battlefield game.
