One questionable feature of Battlefield 3 on PC, is the forced use of EA’s Origin network to play the game.  Apparently some didn’t like this mandatory use of the online network, and have taken it upon themselves to bypass the network alltogether.  A hacking group known as Razor1911 has released an executable file that allows PC Battlefield 3 owners to play the game without installing or running EA’s Origin.

While the executable file gets around the online checks at the moment, and allows players to play the game online, there’s no telling if EA has already got a plan to stop this unauthorized use of the game.

DICE has been steadily tweaking the online services for Battlefield 3 since launch, trying to make the network conditions optimal.
