One of Battlefield 3’s best features is the next iteration of the Frostbite engine.  Already announced to be using the Frostbite 2 engine, Battlefield 3 will look to capitalize on the new technology.  Not much has been heard or seen from the new tech, but this latest video features Per Einarsson from DICE and Sam Martin from Geomarics presenting the first look at the Frostbite 2 engine in action.

The presentation focuses primarily on the implementation and use of Enlighten, a middleware toolkit for computing real-time radiosity from Geomarics.  The video showcases how the technology is used and integrated with the Frostbite 2 game engine.

The video is displays real time radiosity for use in Battlefield 3.

Battlefield 3 is slated for a fall 2011 release on PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
