There are many powerful weapons and attachments in Battlefield 2042, but one attachment worth investing in is the grenade launcher. Grenade launchers offer good assist at mid-range, letting you take down more enemies and do better damage to vehicles.

It’s pretty simple to use grenade launchers, but there is a slight catch. We’ll break that down for you so you can get to decimating (and angering) your opponents.

Using Grenade Launchers in Battlefield 2042

An underbarrel grenade launcher is a potent weapon in Battlefield 2042. This is because grenades alone can do some great damage. With launchers, you can hit targets at longer distances compared to throwing a grenade. It’s especially useful considering that the second patch nerfed some specific weapon damage.

Before you can use them, you need the right weapon that can attach one. Only eight weapons have launcher attachments:

  • AC-42
  • AK-24
  • DM7
  • LCMG
  • M5A3
  • SFAR-M GL
  • SVK
  • SWS-10

There are multiple types of grenade launchers too that you can use in Battlefield 2042. The rounds that the launchers can fire are. There are Incendiary ammo, Smoke ammo, Armor Piercing ammo, and two different Frag ammo types.

To use the grenade launcher, you will want to switch firing modes. You’ll know the firing modes are switched when the crosshairs change. If you’re playing on PC, the default keybinding to switch is set to X. On console, just press down on the d-pad.

Now you can use the grenade launcher and blow some things (or people) up.

Battlefield 2042: How to Change Sensitivity

Just something to remember: you cannot aim and fire at the same time.

It’s a bit strange but true. So, make sure your shot is lined up before firing. Also, be aware of the drop physics in the game. Much like real life, gravity will take over, especially if you’re going after long-range targets. So, try to fire above the target if it’s farther away because the projectile will drop a bit.

Battlefield 2042 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
