The next Battlefield installment, Battlefield 2042, is just around the corner, and there’s a lot to be excited about! Outside of the standard Battlefield offerings such as the standard multiplayer modes and fully destructible maps, the Battlefield Portal mode should bring a lot for those who love messing with a sandbox (and of course, remastered fan-favorite maps). With so much to be excited about, you may be looking to step into the open beta. If you’re one of those people, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, we’ll be telling you exactly how you can join the open beta for Battlefield 2042!

How to Join the Open Beta for Battlefield 2042

EA and DICE have clarified that the Battlefield 2042 open beta will be available for free for everyone at some point this September. Once they’re ready to launch, the team will likely take to their social media channels to announce the beta and clarify how to get in (something we’ll update once the option is available). If we had to guess, you’ll likely have to install a program through either the EA Desktop app or on your respective console’s store.

In the event that you want to join the early beta period though, you’ll have to go about an extra step. This involves pre-ordering Battlefield 2042 on your desired platform, thus automatically netting you access to the early access beta. It should be obvious, but you shouldn’t go this route unless you were already planning to pre-order the game. Either way, once you do, the development team will contact you once the early access open beta is ready to go, to which you can then download and try things out! And with the release fast approaching in October, having the chance to try before you buy is more than welcome.

Battlefield 2042 is set to release on October 22 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more information regarding what to expect and how to pre-order, check out the official website.
