DC is once again bringing their Batman Day celebrations all over the globe!  To honor 80 years of adventures with the World’s Greatest Detective, DC is offering special screenings, free comics, and so much more! This year’s Batman Day is taking place on September 17, and here is what fans of the Dark Knight can expect:

Comics, Comics, Comics!

Participating comic shops are offering two free comics to honor Gotham’s caped crusader. The first is Batman: Hush #1 Batman Day Special from writer Jeph Loeb. It features the seminal work of legendary Batman artist Jim Lee. The other offering is more kid-friendly with Batman’s Mystery Casebook Batman Day Special Edition. This is a preview of the upcoming Middle-Grade title from writer Sholly Fisch and artist Christopher Uminga.

There is also a special edition of 2002’s Batman #608 up for grabs. This is the first issue in Jeph Loeb and Jim lee’s 12-part mystery that spans throughout Gotham and features some of Batman’s greatest foes. This special edition is to get fans excited for October’s Batman: Hush 20th Anniversary Edition hardcover.

Batman Day and HBO Max

HBO Max is getting in on the Batman action with the animated film Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios. This film features a Mexican version of Batman amidst the captivating setting of Mexico and Mesoamerican culture.  The streamer announced the incredible voice talent working on the project. It includes Horacio Garcia Rojas as Batman, Omar Chaparro as The Joker, and Alvaro More as Two-Face.

HBO Max is also debuting the first-ever Batman preschool series, Batwheels. A special half-hour origin special on Batman Day will set up the sentient super-powered vehicle show. The cast includes Ethan Hawke, Jacob Bertrand, Gina Rodriguez, and Xolo Mariduena.

That’s not all! HBO Max’s first scripted original podcast, Batman: The Audio Adventures, is available now! Previously only available on HBO Max itself, the first season of this audio drama is now available on all podcast platforms. A star-studded cast featuring Jeffrey Wright, Seth Meyers, Chris Parnell, Rosario Dawson, and more brings fantastic Stories from Gotham City to life. Plus, a tie-in comic from Dennis McNicholas goes on sale on September 27.

Gotham and Games

This Batman Day, you can celebrate the Dark Knight with the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus. An in-game event is bringing Batman profile icons to players who complete 20 matches as the crimefighter. Plus, Batman will be featured as one of the game’s preview characters. This all runs from September 16th to the 19th!

Injustice 2 is also getting in on the Batman action. From September 13th to the 19th, players can get free daily in-game gifts. Plus, a limited Batman Day logo profile picture. On September 16th, a special Classic Batman Arena Invasion event kicks off alongside various in-game sales.

Let’s Get Digital

DC is also celebrating Batman Day with some digital collectibles. Cartamundi, the worldwide leader in playing cards, is teaming up with Warner Bros. to release DC Hybrid NFT Trading Cards. The pack releases on September 19th and features the Justice League. Plus, fans on the leaderboard can nab a special Mythic reward card showing off Batman’s Batarang skills.

The Bat Cowl NFT Holder-Only Discord Channel is holding a special event to honor the day. This is part of their multiyear fan experience allowing users to dive into the world of Gotham. Additionally, the event will reveal the first issue cover art for upcoming comic Batman: The Legacy Cowl. There will also be a video series debuting on Batman Day that takes Bat Cowl holders behind the scenes with Warner Bros. Archives to explore the history of Batman’s cowls, suits, and vehicles.

Batman Day Celebrations Around the World!

In the US and North America, Batman Day celebrations are taking place on the screens of Cinemark theaters with exclusive showings. They include Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman (1989), and Batman Returns. Plus, the TNT channel will host a Batman marathon all day to enjoy the caped crusader at home.

GUESS Originals is teaming up with Batman for their upcoming capsule release. Plus, legendary comic book shop Golden Apple Comics is designing a shop-in-shop at GUESS Originals stores in LA. The capsule is available beginning September 15th.

Down in Mexico, fans can celebrate the Dark Knight with a huge assortment of products at Liverpool Stores. They include toys, apparel, houseware, accessories, and more. Some special collections will be available from iconic brands like Funko, Spin Master, Lego, and more.

Europe and the UK and Batman!

Over in Spain, Batman fans can celebrate alongside Parque Warner and FNAC. On September 17th, FNAC Callao is hosting a weekend of activities for Batman Day. They include immersive scenarios and promotional events from brands like Lego, Mattel, Funko, and more. Plus, Parque Warner is hosting a Batman Day parade, a Batmobile exhibit, and much more.

In France, fans can enter to vote for the “Greatest Batman Fan.” The winner will receive an exclusive Batman Tour at Warner Bros. Studio in LA. Plus, Roadshow sends the Batman Bus across France with special opportunities for fans. From now until Batman Day, the country is also hosting a TikTok challenge for fans to show their love for the caped crusader.

Over in the UK, the Big DC Giveaway is offering the chance to win exclusive prizes every month. On Batman Day, an exciting new prize will be revealed. Plus, The Entertainer stores across the country are offering kids the chance to meet the Dark Knight.

Asia and Australia

Meanwhile, in Singapore, the global design group XM is collaborating with DC for a Batman Day campaign. From now until October 2nd, visitors can visit their flagship store to admire countless collectibles designed by and produced in-house. Plus, a ton of activities are lined up for the event like an immersive experience in their newly-launched Batcave, workshops, raffles, and more.

Down under in Australia, special screenings of Batman titles are being brought to fans in Melbourne and Sydney. They include special Batman Day popcorn cups. Plus, Zing Pop Culture in Australia and New Zealand is boasting one of the largest ranges of exclusive Batman merchandise.

South American Batman Day Celebrations

Brazil is getting in on the fun in South America with an actual Bat-signal at Carol Santander’s building. Plus, local Peruvian artist Marcelo Wong is releasing his new Batman sculpture product line at Jockey Plaza Mall in Lima. Plus, Wong is partnering with Magia, a non-profit focused on helping kids with cancer.
