Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate continues to expand the giant roster, and now fans finally can play as Banjo-Kazooie as they are finally coming back to a Nintendo console!

Joining the post-release content for the popular title is Banjo and Kazooie a character that was heavily rumored to be included in the initial run of five characters, excluding the plant, that would be added as DLC. Along with Banjos’s addition to the game, an additional Classic Mode, Spirits, several music tracks, and a new stage based on Spiral Mountain from the Banjo-Kazooie series will be included.

This is one fans have been waiting for since Smash started adding third-party characters back in Brawl. After the announcement, there was much rejoicing on the internet as fans of the Bear and Bird celebrated the revival.

Former president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime was made things clear on what the focus of the DLC was at The Game Awards back in December.

“These are going to be characters that are new to the series,” Fils-Aime said. “Just like Joker from Persona 5, characters you would not expect to be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.”

With that tone set even before the first character was added to the roster, it isn’t as surprising that Banjo made it in. Now we just have to wait and see who the other three fighters will be, since Nintendo has stated that they want this wave of the Fighters Pass to be complete by Feb. 2020.

You asked. We listened. Nintendo were listening too, and we were happy to work with our old friends to make this one a reality. Banjo and Kazooie are coming to Super #SmashBrosUltimate! https://t.co/itIuobRF5e
