Nintendo has officially confirmed via Twitter that Banjo-Kazooie will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online library in January of 2022. While an exact date was not given, it is likely that more information will be given as we go into January.

Although an exact date was not given, the official Rare Twitter also responded to the Tweet to provide more information and celebrate the release of Banjo-Kazooie as part of the Nintendo Switch Online library.

“Date reveal! Well, release window reveal but that’s still more info than you had when you woke up this morning: Banjo-Kazooie arrives on Nintendo Switch on one of January’s 31 days, offering another modern way (alongside @XboxGamePass and Rare Replay) to enjoy our ’90s classic,” the Tweet reads.

The announcement of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack earlier this year was originally considered controversial by some fans, as there was a variety of games, including Pokemon Snap and Kirby 64 to name a few, already announced for the Expansion Pack. Paper Mario is the latest addition – being added today – and Banjo-Kazooie is next in line, but there are still many more games listed to be coming to the service at some point.

Originally, the Nintendo Switch Online Library only gave access to NES and SNES titles, but this Expansion Pass has since extended that list to include Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis classics. The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack is priced for an individual membership at $49.99 and $79.99 for a 12-month family plan, an increase from the original service’s $20 annual price. The expansion also included the recently announced Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC, Happy Home Paradise, which was released on November 5 and is also available as a part of the Expansion Pack or can be purchased separately for $25.
