Back 4 Blood is Warner Bros.’ latest cooperative shooter to hit PC and consoles, promising a zombie-slaying experience unlike other games on the market. Still, the experience isn’t a perfect one, especially for solo players.

Users report that playing in Solo mode disables player progression, including achievements or trophies and cosmetic unlocks. Unsurprisingly, many fans are unhappy with this development, as it makes Solo Mode effectively a time waster.

What’s more unsettling for community members is that the studio didn’t announce this. These issues were by active players experiencing the problems firsthand in early access. While Turtle Rock Studios is known for its iconic Left 4 Dead franchise, they’ve also created live-service failures like 2015’s Evolve, showcasing that the company isn’t infallible. This situation further highlights their ability to make missteps in development.

Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have yet to comment on player dissatisfaction or the situation itself, which doesn’t bode well for player goodwill.

Back 4 Blood is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC starting at $59.99
