Back for Blood is, well, back. That’s the message ringing loud and clear from the halls of Turtle Rock Studios. One of the most significant flaws with the almost-year-old zombie shooter has been the lack of consistent post-launch offerings. The original Back 4 Blood DLC, Tunnels Of Terror, and now its successor, Children Of The Worm, faced lengthy delays. The idea that after ten months, fans have only received two of the planned expansions listed on the game’s roadmap does raise a few eyebrows. However, Turtle Rock appears confident in Back 4 Blood: Children Of The Worm, drawing interest from both existing and new fans alike.

New Weapons, New Maps, New Enemies. Same old Back 4 Blood DLC formula

While the recent trailer showed off a decent number of the new additions, Turtle Rock has since elaborated. In a statement released to the press yesterday, alongside the latest trailer for the DLC, Turtle Rock outlined what players can expect in said DLC. This expansion is said to include:

Of the above additions, the new weapons, maps, and cards will likely prove to be the most impactful. Unless the new enemies drastically differ in attack behavior, they’ll still die the same. However, how you put them into the ground has been expanded upon. Cards grant players unique active or passive abilities, drastically changing their playstyle. Offering more new cards allows players to more deeply customize their preferred playstyle to their liking. The new bow, sniper rifle, and bear trap also incentivize a stealth-driven playstyle, something not previously seen in the game.

Reload, aim, fire

For those looking for an excuse to jump back into the zombie-slaying career, now’s as good a time as ever. Here’s hoping this second Back 4 Blood DLC won’t disappoint as the first one did. Back 4 Blood: Children Of The Worm can be found on Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on consoles.
