The Pokémon Company International and the TiMi Studio have officially revealed the next fighter coming to Pokémon UNITE, announcing today that the Water-Fairy type Azumarill will be joining Pokémon UNITE on April 7. Azumarill is confirmed to be among Pokémon UNITE’s Melee All-Rounder class of characters.

Azumarill’s Trailer, Moves, and New Character Teasing

The addition of Azumarill in Pokémon Unite has now expanded the roster to a total of 34. The Pokémon UNITE’s other characters so far include Duraludon, Hoopa, Trevenant, Dragonite, Tsareena, Greedent, Sylveon, Mamoswine, Blastoise, Blissey, Gardevoir, Zeraora, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Crustyle, Greninja, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Lucario, Venusaur, Mr. Mine, Slowbro, Absol, Machamp, Wigglytuff, Alolan Ninetails, Cramorant, Gengar, Carchomp, and Cinderace.

The new trailer also sees Azumarill using a few of its moves to deter other players but provides a fairly decent overview of its capabilities. These moves were Whirpool, which was used to deter enemy Pokémon from getting too close and does AOE damage around Azurmarill, as well as Play Rough, which it uses to grant with a brief moment of invincibility while dealing damage. It also used Aqua Tail, an attack that will lash out with multiple strikes in a set area, and a stat-boosting move.

Azumarill is not the only Pokémon that might be coming soon to Pokémon UNITE, however. TiMi Studio has recently begun teasing the arrival of several new additions to the game before their official reveal. Azumarill was once such a reveal that also got leaked before the new trailer today.

At this time, however, nothing is known about the next Pokémon that could be coming from the last teaser. TiMi Studio or the Pokémon Company may drop further details later this month or next.
