Marvel has unveiled the cover for Mech Strike: Monster Hunters #1. The series, which will hit shelves in June, will feature some of Earth’s mightiest Avengers in new monster hunter suits. Announced earlier this year, the tie-in comic is part of a brand-new era of Marvel Mech Strike. It will help usher in new merchandise as well as a brand-new season on Marvel HQ.

What Is Marvel Mech Strike

Marvel Mech Strike is a motion comic series that airs on Marvel HQ. The first season, Avengers: Mech Strike, premiered on the family-friendly Marvel channel last year. The series saw the Avengers arming themselves with new mech armor. This armor helped them to battle a threat never-before-seen on Earth.

This time around, the Avengers are suiting up in all-new monster-hunting mech suits. Doctor Doom has assembled a group of supervillains. This new group has given themselves a monstrous upgrade using the Eye of the Kraken. Heroes like Iron Man, Black Panther, and Hulk will have to undergo a similar upgrade to stop the villains. However, they must be careful not to be corrupted by this new power.

As part of the series, Marvel is releasing a limited series tie-in comic. It will consist of five issues and kick off later in June.

Who is Behind This New Limited Mech Series?

The five-issue Monster Hunter series is written by Christos Gage and drawn by Paco Diaz. This gig was a dream come true for Gage, who is a fan of “giant robots and Marvel comics.” In fact, the only thing he loves as much as monsters. So, with Marvel Mech Strike blending all three, Gage feels like this was made for him. He tells Marvel, “It’s like I’ve been preparing my whole life to write this comic.” He also shared what fans can expect in this new series: “You’ll get heroes, villains, giant mech suits, monsters, and monster mech suits… everything a great comic book should have!”

To get fans excited, Marvel revealed the cover for the first issue. With art from Pere Perez, it shows off the Avengers in their new monster hunter suits.
