With the much-beloved series Avatar: The Last Airbender coming to Netflix last year, fans, new and old, have fallen in love with Aang, Korra and the gang all over again…. Just in time! The original creators of the show, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, announced that they are returning to Nickelodeon to launch Avatar Studios.
Avatar Studios will be fully devoted to telling stories within the extended universe. According to the announcement, the first project in the works is an animated theatrical film. Production on the Avatar film is slated to begin later this year. Avatar Studios content will be released on “Paramount+ and Nickelodeon as well as third-party platforms and theatrical releases“.

Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra can be streamed in their entirety on Netflix. There are also plenty of books, comics and graphic novels set in the universe if you’re looking to fill the gap!
