If you live in Australia, you might not be able to play Paranautical Activity as the game is banned in that country.

Kotaku Australia noted that the country’s Classification Board has refused classification for Paranautical Activity. This basically means the game is banned and won’t be available for sale in the country.

The reason the game was banned in Australia is because of many reasons. There was no specific reason stated, but it includes offensive matter such as “matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena“.

Kotaku emailed Digerati Distribution who owns the rights to Paranautical Activity. They feel the game was banned mainly because you get rewarded for using a prescribed drug in the game. The drug in the game is called Adderall and gives you an increase in speed.

They’re hoping to remove the offensive features for so that the Classification Board in Australia can rate the game. Developers are able to censor the game in order to meet the needs of a specific country. This has happened in the past to many video games that have been released in Australia.

Australia is one of the most sensitive Western countries when it comes to video game censorship. They have banned lots of games before.
