In terms of comfort, the memory foam on the headset and the overall feel was very comfortable even after long periods of wearing it for various activities such as gameplay and general computing while listening to music.

Technology

Audeze uses the planar magnetic driver technology in this model that is said to set the standard for clear and detailed audio.  Their Fluxor magnet array doubles the power of other Neodymium headphone drivers and their Fazor waveguides and Uniforce voice coils take the distortion almost to zero.

Audeze Penrose X Headset Sound:

The sound quality of the Audeze Penrose X headset is pretty amazing  however, if you are one of those people that like to hear bass over everything else, you might be a little disappointed. I am more of an equalized/balanced kind of listener when it comes to sound and I felt this performed very well in that department and the background noise was barely detected during gameplay. In fact, I didn’t notice it at all.

Connectivity:

Wireless connectivity for the Audeze Penrose is established either by a lossless, low latency 2.4GHz wireless connection (using a dongle) or the onboard Bluetooth 5.0.  For dual purposes, the Bluetooth connection can be paired simultaneously with 2.4GHz wireless allowing players to chat from their mobile device while playing a game.

Microphone:

One notable feature of the Audeze Penrose X Headset is the quality of the microphone when chatting.  Audeze engineers created a microphone that is enhanced for chat and streaming. Reducing up to 20dB of the background sound and providing a max SPL of more than 140dB with built-in noise filters, all users should have a good, effective method of communicating without issues.

Audeze HQ App:

The Audeze HQ apps are available for Windows, Android, and Mac which features a 10 band graphic EQ interface, sidetone toggling, and real-time voice-to-chat mix for Xbox Series X and BT/wireless.

Audeze Penrose X Headset Pricing:

Verdict: If you are looking for a quality headset that is comfortable, sounds great, and makes you sound great when chatting, this is definitely one to consider. Again, remember the Penrose X is for the Xbox and the Penrose is for the PlayStation and other consoles. The price is a little higher than I would like to pay for a headset but that does not necessarily mean it is high compared to other headsets of its caliber. Overall, Audeze seems to have produced another great success!
