Having been with us since 2009, Attack On Titan, or Shingeki No Kyojin as it’s known in Japan, will soon be coming to an end. The Manga is steadily wrapping up its final chapters whilst the anime is due to premiere its final season later this year.

The anime itself debuted in 2013 to critical acclaim before fans had to wait a tortuous 4 years before the second season came out. Thankfully, since then the releases have been a bit less Rick and Morty and a bit more frequent.

Since its inception, the anime has been handled by Wit Studio who have done a simply stunning job in bringing the pages to life on the screen. It’s an art style that feels unique.

Here’s hoping that other artists can do their work justice as today it has been announced that Wit Studio have been relieved of their duties for the final season of Attack on Titan. This time around animation duties will fall to MAPPA.

Take a look at the new trailer below to see their work for yourselves:

It seems as if they have done a pretty good job and I’m looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table.

Hopefully, Attack on Titan can go out with the bang it deserves. As an avid manga reader, I’m optimistically looking forward to the final season and I have my fingers crossed that it is paced a bit better than the final chapters of the manga have been.

You may not agree with me, but I have found the final arc to be a bit disappointing when compared to what came earlier in the series. The less said about one particular big reveal the better. It was laughable at best.

Either way, there isn’t long to wait as the final season of Attack on Titan will release in the fall. There will also be a compilation movie, Attack on Titan: Chronicle. Due to release in July, the movie will recap the events of the first three seasons and will make an ideal starting point for beginners looking to jump in ahead of the conclusion.

Let us know your thoughts on the change and be sure to tell us what you think of Attack on Titan even if you disagree with my thoughts on the final arc. Maybe I’m just a grumpy old man.
