Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was a real return to form for the series, at least in my opinion. It took what was good about Origins and added to it. Who doesn’t love kicking some poor henchman off a cliff with a Spartan kick?

Legacy of the first blade: Hunted is the first episode from the post-launch DLC. It’s a brand new story arc for the main game and will be spread out over three parts, the remaining two to come in early 2019 according to Ubisoft.

The hunted introduces us to a character called Darius, the first user of the Assasin’s hidden blade. The weapon that is synonymous to the series. Fans may remember Darius from Assasin’s Creed 2. His tomb was under the Villa Auditore. It’s cool that Ubisoft are linking the games and expanding on the lore like this.

The DLC is available now, yet you may not be able to access it straight away. Ubisoft want this to complement the main game instead of being seen as a completely separate entry, and as such players will only be able to access this DLC after certain conditions have been met. It will unlock after the Naxos questline from episode 7 of the main story has been completed. Aimed at characters level 28 and above it also increases the level cap to 70.

The new enemies in Assasin’s Creed Odyssey Legacy of the first blade have come to Greece with the sole purpose of tormenting and murdering the player. Thankfully each episode introduces a new ability. In episode 1 we are given the death veil. Handy for stealthy players as any enemy that is stealth killed will instantly vanish. No more worrying about where to hide the bodies. Let’s see what the next two add.

The season pass for Assasin’s Creed Odyssey will grant players access to each episode in Legacy of the first blade, as well as the 2nd episodic content, Fate of Atlantis, which is due nearer the end of 2019. The season pass costs $39.99, or alternatively, Legacy of the first blade can be purchased separately for $24.99.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – Legacy of the first blade episode 1: Hunted, is available to download now, for anyone with the season pass or gold edition of the game on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.
